Since the beginning of time there has been a never ending creation of ideas and innovations. Are you one of the great minds that constantly has thoughts and ideas that could be the next great thing for your generation? For your career? If so, now what? Do you keep those ideas and thoughts all to yourself or do you have an avenue in place to develop them?
Coming up with ideas and implementing those ideas are two completely different things. For the most part, our thoughts are just that- thoughts. How do those thoughts become reality? How do those thoughts take action and come alive?
Often times those new and exciting things begin as a thought laying dormant just waiting for a similar thought or idea of someone else to awaken it; Part of a whole, so to speak. Put the two thoughts together and the next great thing is off and running. This can apply to a project, a concept, even a method to improve on something already in existence.
Part of the embodiment of civilization is the corroboration of individuals coming together and developing thoughts and ideas into a solid entity. From gatherings around the fire in prehistoric times to brainstorming over a latte in the coffee shop, people have been coming together to create and develop new and exciting things. Since the beginning of time, man has unknowingly been involved in Peer Groups. Imagine the strides and accomplishments that can be made by individuals who are hand chosen to participate in a peer group. The elite few, brought together to collectively create and develop with no distractions from the end goal, is a powerful tool.
The internet has opened up a whole new world of opportunity for the formation of peer groups to come together. From LinkedIn to Facebook, finding others of a like mind is just a click away. Our options of interacting with others has grown exponentially and broadened our resources to draw from.
Check out this very informative video by Steve Johnson, that literally illustrates the power of peer groups, and then contact us so we can help you personally build a group to bring your next great idea to life.

Hands Free Headsets to Make Your Conference Call Even Better
Previously we talked about some tips for how to help your conference call go as well as it possibly can. One of the tips was having a quiet place to conduct your call and another was having a phone that doesn’t pick up background noise.
One of the best ways to reduce your background noise is by purchasing a good noise reduction headset. Another bonus of using a headset is you can attend the conference call hands free. Go ahead and give yourself a manicure during the call, if that’s your thing.
There are many headsets on the market from $30 up to nearly $300. You don‘t have to break the bank to get a good headset, but there are a few features that you should look for when you make your purchase.
Think ahead to which of these features will best benefit you during your call:
• Is the headset comfortable and possible adjustable? You never know when you’ll be in a three hour long call, you want to be comfortable.
• Is there a mute feature?
• Do you need wireless capability?
• How much range do you need?
• Do you need remote answering/disconnecting capability?
• Is it compatible with your phone, whether it be corded or cordless?
• Is there a volume control?
Next, we will take a look at some of the various products available and give you a brief overview of their features and cost.

Is Video Capability an Asset You Can Use in Your Conference Calls?
Using video features during your conference calls will bring the whole experience up a few notches. Having everyone in the same room, but not, just got a little bit closer to reality.
If you place a lot of your business decisions on the ‘people factor’, then reading reactions and facial expressions is a pretty important part of your decision making criteria. Gone are the days of annoyed team members making funny faces at their computer while the big meeting is commencing. You can watch and read every nuance as it happens.
But seriously, with video capabilities, project progress can be seen by others whether it be by screen sharing or even video show and tell. Everyone is on the same page, looking at the same thing and nothing beats dealing with particulars in ‘real time’.
Most computers in use today have web cams built right in. If someone doesn’t have the built in web cam, it is fairly inexpensive to purchase one that is adaptable to the computer. Even cell phones are now able to use their in front facing camera for video conferencing and calls.
Successful conference calling doesn’t NEED video to be successful, but it sure is a nice touch.
